1. Stop The Harassing Phone Calls From The Insurance Adjusters
The first thing I do when I’m hired to represent a personal injury victim is to contact the at-fault driver’s insurance company to immediately put them on notice that you are now represented, and to direct all further communication directly through me.
Many victims of car crashes don’t realize that they do not have to, and often times should not make statements regarding their injuries to the insurance adjusters for the at-fault driver. Adjusters are trained to exploit an injury victim’s ignorance and will often be very aggressive when dealing with individuals who don’t have a lawyer.
Insurance adjusters have one main job: to undervalue the value of your claim and minimize the cost the insurance company has to pay.
This puts victims in a terrible place after a crash: when adjusters are harassing you to make statements and questioning the extent of your injuries, they are using tactics to take advantage of you for one reason only: they know they are liable to pay for the costs their negligence caused, and they want to take advantage of you in order to obtain a quick release of liability, often times for pennies on the dollar of what your damages actually are.
2. We Understand What You Are Going Through, And Know How To Help
After being injured, many victims are unsure of how to get their lives back on track. As a personal injury lawyer, I work with people who have sustained minor injuries, catastrophic, life-changing injuries, and fatalities. My experience in handling these cases helps me to understand what challenges my clients regularly face such as being out of work and having difficulty getting proper treatment for their injuries, among many others. I’m familiar with the challenges that frequently plague accident victims. I’m able to quickly respond and assist my clients in several ways to ease the burdens of being injured and I’m able to help prevent things from getting out of control. I’ve met with several people who have been in your situation before and am able to put my experience and knowledge to work for you.
3. Get Your Medical Bills Paid By The At-Fault Driver
The costs of receiving medical treatment is very expensive. Basic treatment for even minor car crash injuries can quickly pile up to be thousands of dollars in expenses. When injuries are more extensive, bills can skyrocket into the tens of thousands, hundreds of thousands, or even more.
As a personal injury lawyer, I help my clients to avoid paying out-of-pocket expenses and help them ensure that their bills are paid for by the negligent driver’s insurance company. I do this in a number of ways. One of the things I can often times do is arrange medical treatment to be done on a lien basis so that the expense can be paid directly from the settlement.
Another service I provide is to help my clients find out and recover any benefits on their own insurance policy for medical payments coverage. Med Pay is beneficial in that it can help cover the out-of-pocket expenses like copays, or emergency room bills that cannot be billed on a lien basis.
4. Lawyers Front The Costs Of Litigation, Which Can Be Extremely Expensive
There are lots of cases that can be settled without ever having to file a lawsuit or going to court. It’s a great thing when the insurance company admits that they are liable for your injuries, and are also willing to offer a settlement that compensates you not only for your bills, but also your lost wages, pain and suffering, and all other damages for which you are entitled to recover.
Often times, however, insurance companies will undervalue an injury case and won’t be willing to offer an adequate, fair, or even reasonable settlement.
When a settlement cannot be reached, the only recourse is to file a lawsuit and actually sue the negligent driver who caused your injuries. Filing lawsuits can be a complicated matter, and costs and expenses associated with suing someone can quickly become more burdensome than what an individual can afford.
Common costs in lawsuits consist of costs for depositions, expert witnesses, filing fees, court reporters, and many more. A deposition, where lawyers ask a witness questions outside of court, but under oath, can cost several thousand dollars. Often times, several depositions will be required to adequately prepare a case in litigation. I am able to help my clients by funding their case up front in order to be able to stand up to the insurance companies who refuse to settle. As a personal injury lawyer, I don’t get intimidated by insurance companies and won’t push my clients to settle for less than what their cases are worth simply because I’m not willing to pursue the case through litigation, and through a trial when a fair settlement isn’t offered.
5. Have Confidence That You Will Get The Best Possible Settlement For Your Case
As a personal injury lawyer, I work diligently with all of my clients to ensure that their cases are given the time and attention they deserve all along the process, not just at the end when it’s in my financial interest to settle a case.
I get my clients the best possible treatment by referring to the best doctors in the industry. Those doctors are able to diagnose and offer the highest quality medical care possible. My clients receive the treatment when they need it, not weeks or months after when it may be too late to get the benefits.
I help my clients to concentrate on their recovery by reducing the stresses that come when medical bills pile up and ensure that those responsible for paying them are held accountable.
Lastly, when insurance companies don’t want to pay, I do what has to be done to make them pay under the law by filing lawsuits for my clients when its necessary.
At the end of the day, peace of mind is a great thing to have. Most cases aren’t like the famous million dollar McDonalds case. The cases I handle are for real people who need real help. I ensure they are cared for and compensated after being injured. I am actively involved throughout all stages of the injury case, and I utilize my knowledge and expertise to make sure my clients get the most money possible to pay them back for the damage that was done.
